The newly-fledged England international was fortunate to avoid a red card after the 19-year-old clashed with Fiorentina defender Nenad Tomovic in the first half of Thursday night’s 1-1 draw in Florence.
Alli was booked for the incident as Nacer Chadli’s first-half opener from the penalty spot was cancelled out by Federico Bernardeschi’s 59th-minute equaliser.
He kind of thinks that he is being cute about it, the way he is going on about it, but yeah he will come unstuck with it
The former MK Dons midfielder has been one of the Premier League’s standout players so far this season after an impressive return of seven goals and five assists in 24 top-flight games.
However, former Spurs midfielder Jenas warned Alli that he will need to take steps to improve his on-field behaviour to avoid a poor disciplinary record.
“The more and more he keeps doing it, the more the refs are going to be looking out for him,” Jenas told BT Sport.
“He kind of thinks that he is being cute about it, the way he is going on about it, but yeah he will come unstuck with it, something he needs to completely eradicate from his game, especially in Europe and at international level those referees are pretty sharp and they are not scared to get the red card out.”
Alli moved to Tottenham from League One side MK Dons in the summer in a reported £5m deal.
The England starlet was previously linked with Liverpool before he made the switch to Spurs.
