Jose Mourinho has made up his mind to take over at Manchester United at the end of the season, according to Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti.

The Portuguese coach has been relentlessly linked with the managerial job at Old Trafford amid the speculation surrounding Louis van Gaal’s future.

Van Gaal has found himself under intense pressure in recent months, with United having suffered back to back defeats by Sunderland and Midtjylland this week.

United have come in for plenty of criticism for their below par displays throughout the course of the season and currently sit fifth in the Premier League table and six points adrift of the top four.

Mourinho is the favourite to take over from Van Gaal at the end of the season following the Portuguese coach’s sacking by Chelsea back in December.

Mourinho had also been linked with a move back to Inter Milan, but the Italian club’s president is quoted as saying by the Guardian: “He’s missed [at Inter] as a person, but right now he’s happy, he’s going to Manchester.”
