The north London side head into the game on the back of their disappointing 2-0 loss to Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Gabriel has been out injured with a minor hamstring problem in recent weeks but is now closing in on a return to action.
And Arsenal boss Wenger confirmed on Thursday that the defender is close to make a return to competitive action.
Wenger told Arsenal’s website: “He is coming back into the squad tomorrow, so we will see how he responds to that, but the signs are positive. He might be available for Sunday.”
The Gunners boss also said that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is having a scan on Thursday on a suspected knee injury picked up against Barcelona.
Wenger, whose side are third in the Premier League and two points off top spot, then provided updates on the likes of Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla.
He continued: [Wilshere] is not back in full training yet. Everyone else is the same as before, so there’s no Rosicky, Cazorla, Wilshere.”
