Danny Ings has stepped up his return from a knee ligament injury, according to a report in the Irish Examiner.

The Liverpool striker hasn’t featured for the Reds since the former Burnley man scored in their 1-1 draw with Everton in October’s Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Ings injured his knee during training before Jurgen Klopp replaced Northern Irishman Brendan Rodgers at the Anfield helm.

The 23-year-old England Under-21 international is still waiting to make his first appearance under the former Borussia Dortmund manager.
