The Liverpool striker hasn’t featured for the Reds since the former Burnley man scored in their 1-1 draw with Everton in October’s Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
Ings injured his knee during training before Jurgen Klopp replaced Northern Irishman Brendan Rodgers at the Anfield helm.
The 23-year-old England Under-21 international is still waiting to make his first appearance under the former Borussia Dortmund manager.
However, Ings could be set for a return to action before the end of the season after the Irish Examiner reported that the Liverpool striker has stepped up his recovery by taking part in some outdoor running.
The summer signing has scored two goals in five Premier League appearances for the Merseyside outfit so far this season.
Ings moved to Liverpool from Burnley in the summer transfer window.
