Manchester United have been handed a significant boost ahead of their crunch Premier League clash with Arsenal next weekend with the news that David De Gea should be fit for the game, according to reports.

The Spanish shot-stopper was injured in the warm-up before the Red Devils’ clash with Midtjylland in the Europa League on Thursday night and sat out the 2-1 defeat.

However, the goalkeeper’s knee problem is not as serious as first feared and the goalkeeper could return in time for next Sunday’s showdown with the Gunners at Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail.

De Gea has been a regular fixture in the Red Devils first team this season since signing a new contract with the club back in the summer.

The goalkeeper is said to be a doubt for Monday night’s FA Cup clash with Shrewsbury Town on Monday night.

United are currently fifth in the Premier League table and six points adrift of the top four.
