Lazio have issued a statement denying reports Manchester United have agreed a £47m deal for Felipe Anderson.

According to a Calciomercato report, Lazio owner and chariman Claudio Lotito had confirmed that United would sign the 22-year-old in the summer.

However, the Serie A club have since issued a statement regarding issue, insisting Lotito hadn’t confirmed that an agreement was in place with the 20-time English champions for Anderson.

The South American playmaker has scored six goals in 24 Serie A appearances for the Italian side so far this season.

Anderson netted 10 times in 32 Serie A appearances for Lazio in his second season in Italy’s top flight, prompting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.

Lazio signed Anderson, who has made one appearance for the Brazilian national team, in a £6m deal from Brazilian club Santos in 2013.

United are in fifth place in the Premier League table and six points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City.
