Martin Keown has warned Chelsea that Diego Costa and Zlatan Ibrahimovic could clash if the Blues sign the Swedish striker in the summer.

The 34-year-old centre-forward is being widely-tipped to leave Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season when his current contract expires.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been touted as potential destinations for the Sweden international in the summer transfer window.

However, former Arsenal defender Keown reckons Chelsea could struggle to keep Costa and Ibrahimovic happy in the same squad.

“I’m not sure Chelsea would take him – imagine the clash between him and Diego Costa!” Keown told Daily Mail.

“I just don’t think you could play those two together.”

Ibrahimovic scored the opener in PSG’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Tuesday night.

The former AC Milan and Juventus striker has never won the Champions League despite winning domestic league crowns in Finland, Holland, Italy, Spain and France.
