Michael Owen is tipping Tottenham Hotspur to underline their status as genuine Premier League title contenders by beating Norwich City on Tuesday night.

Spurs have been one of the top flight’s most consistent teams this season and head into their trip to Carrow Road in fourth place in the table, just five points behind leaders Leicester City.

Mauricio Pochettino will be more concerned about guiding Spurs to a top-four finish after the Lilywhites finished fifth under the Argentine coach last season.

And former England striker Owen is fully expecting to see Tottenham beat the Canaries on Tuesday night and continue their impressive season.

Writing in his column for Bet Victor, Owen said: “Norwich have only failed to score in one of their 11 Premier League games at Carrow Road this term, but their defensive frailties were all too apparent against Liverpool in their last home game.

“Spurs have won their last four, continue to impress and I expect them to have too much for a Norwich side who have lost their last four in all competitions.”

Tottenham booked their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup with a convincing 4-1 win over Colchester on Saturday lunchtime.
