Michael Owen is fully expecting to see Chelsea continue their recent resurgence by beating Watford in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

The Blues head to Vicarage Road looking to build on their impressive 5-1 FA Cup win over MK Dons on Sunday afternoon, as Oscar bagged a hat-trick and Eden Hazard scored his first goal of the season.

Chelsea’s Premier League form this season has left a lot to be desired, although they did show signs of improvement as they beat 10-man Arsenal 1-0 at Emirates Stadium last month.

The west London side are currently in 13th place in the table heading into this week’s round of fixtures as they look to bounce back from their disastrous start to the campaign.

However, former Liverpool striker Owen is expecting to see Chelsea coast to victory over Watford on Tuesday night.

Writing in his column for Bet Victor, Owen said: “Chelsea only had two shots on target in the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day but that was enough to get a point in a 2-2 draw.

“The champions are improving under Guus Hiddink and there was a swagger about them against MK Dons at the weekend. Evens looks a very fair price for the Blues [to win] in this mood.”
