The Red Devils head into the game looking to bounce back from the disappointment of their 2-1 loss to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League last weekend.
United have struggled to find consistent form all season and are currently fifth in the Premier League table and six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
Their best chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League may come through winning the Europa League.
And former United striker Owen is expecting to see the Red Devils claim victory over the Danish champions on Thursday evening.
Writing in his blog for Bet Victor, ex-England and Liverpool forward Owen said: “Midtylland were only founded in 1999 and this is the biggest game in the short history of the Danish champions.
“That said, this is a game my old club should win and I expect them to do so and bring back a lead to Old Trafford.”
United’s next Premier League game is a home clash against title challengers Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday 28 February.
