New Arsenal signing sends Twitter message to Hull City star

Mohamed Elneny could be set to come up against a familiar face when Arsenal host Hull City in the FA Cup

Mohamed Elneny has taken to social media to reveal excitement at the prospect of coming up against Ahmed Elmohamady when Hull City travel to Arsenal in the fifth round of the FA Cup later this month.

The Gunners were pitted against the Tigers for the third season running in the FA Cup as Arsene Wenger’s men bid to win the competition for the third successive year.

Elneny and Elmohamady know each other well from playing for Egypt’s national team together and the Hull City man was quick to take to Twitter on Sunday after learning that he could be coming up against the Arsenal new-boy.

Elmohamady tweeted on Sunday night: “Arsenal away in the FA Cup, see u soon bro @ElNennyM”

And Elneny, who joined Arsenal from FC Basel last month as the Gunners’ only signing of the January transfer window, responded to his compatriot on Twitter on Monday afternoon.

He tweeted:

Arsenal host Southampton in the Premier League on Tuesday night.
