Daniel Sturridge trained with Roberto Firmino and the rest of his Liverpool team-mates on Wednesday ahead of their Europa League clash at Augsburg.

The England international made his much-anticipated return from injury on Sunday as Sturridge started his first Premier League game since October at Villa Park on Sunday.

The 26-year-old repaid Jurgen Klopp’s faith with the opener in a 6-0 rout of the Premier League’s basement club ahead of their trip to Augsburg Arena for the first leg of the last-32 tie.

Roberto Firmino made his sixth assist of the season as the Brazilian makes his return to German for the first time since his £29m move to Liverpool from Hoffenheim last summer.

Augsburg have lost two of their three European home fixtures to date, those matches producing 14 goals.

Liverpool are unbeaten in Europe this season (W2 D4), that run including all four of their continental games under Klopp (W2 D2).
