Piers Morgan has taken to social media to question Daniel Sturridge’s reaction after Manchester City beat Liverpool on penalties to win the League Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.

The Liverpool striker was pictured in tears after Yaya Toure stepped up to fire home the winning penalty after Willy Caballero saved three spot-kicks from Lucas Leiva, Coutinho and Adam Lallana.

Sturridge did not end up taking a spot-kick and was clearly upset after the game as he collected his runners-up medal in the stands.

However, celebrity Arsenal fan and club shareholder Morgan was less than impressed with Sturridge’s reaction after the game.

Morgan tweeted:

Fernandinho had put Liverpool ahead shortly after half-time but Philippe Coutinho equalised with seven minutes left to play to force extra-time.

Liverpool must now dust themselves down as they prepare to face Manchester City once again – this time in the Premier League at Anfield on Wednesday night.
