Roy Keane has questioned whether a world-class striker would want to join Arsenal in the summer.

The Premier League title contenders have failed to score in five of their last eight games in all competitions.

I don’t know if many [world-class strikers] will want to go to Arsenal

Arsenal lost 2-0 to Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Tuesday night as striker Olivier Giroud extended his goalless run to eight games.

Former Gunners defender Lee Dixon urged Wenger to sign a world-class striker in the summer using some of the reported £200m in Arsenal’s bank account.

However, former Manchester United captain Keane believes Arsenal will struggle to find a striker capable of scoring 25 goals-a-season and willing to move to the Emirates Stadium.

“It is easier said than done [to sign world-class striker],” Keane told ITV Sport.

“Spend £200m to go and get a top, top striker? They’re just not out there.

“I don’t know if many [world-class strikers] will want to go to Arsenal.”

Arsenal will face Keane’s former club United in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners are in third place in the Premier League table and two points behind leaders Leicester City.
