Klopp was appointed as manager at Anfield back in October following Brendan Rodgers’ sacking by the Merseyside outfit.
The Reds have failed to find consistent winning from since his appointment but have notched up impressive victories against the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea in the Premier League, as well as reaching the League Cup final.
And former Liverpool captain Gerrard, who trained with his old club during the MLS off-season, admits that he is a keen admirer of the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss.
Speaking to CNN, Gerrard said: “I’m a huge fan [of Klopp]. I was a big fan at Dortmund and I think we’re very lucky to have him at Liverpool.
“I struck up a bit of a relationship with him. I’m hoping with my fingers crossed that as a Liverpool fan he can get us trophies and bring us some success.”
Liverpool secured a thumping 6-0 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon to leave them nine points adrift of the top four heading into the final 12 games of the season.
The Reds take on Manchester City in the League Cup final later this month.
