Jan Vertonghen has taken to social media to reveal that the Tottenham defender is already closing in on a return to action from his knee injury.

The Belgium international has been out of action since suffering the problem during the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace back in January but is now edging closer towards a return to action.

Vertonghen is no longer fitted with a brace on his knee and is able to walk without assistance as he eyes a return to action in the Premier League title run-in.

And the defender used his personal Instagram account to deliver a positive update on his recovery on Thursday afternoon.

Vertonghen posted the picture above on the photo-sharing app and wrote: “On my way back!”

The original post from Tottenham’s official Instagram account quoted Vertonghen as saying: “I’m out of the brace now and I can walk again so I improve every day.”
