Edinson Cavani came off the bench to score a late winner to seal a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

The Ligue 1 holders edged into a first-half lead on Tuesday night after Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s free-kick took a deflection off John Obi Mikel in the 39th minute at Parc des Princes.

However, the 28-year-old Chelsea midfielder made amends before half-time after he scored a rare away goal following a Chelsea set-piece to level the first leg.

Cavani, who scored in their 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the Champions League last season, latched onto Angel di Maria’s brilliant ball and slotted past Thibaut Courtois with 12 minutes remaining.

PSG, who reached the quarter-finals last season thanks to a 3-3 aggregate win, will make the trip to the defending Premier League champions on 9 March.

Here is a selection of the best Twitter reaction from the professionals, past and present, in chronological order to Tuesday’s 2-1 victory for PSG.
