Alex Iwobi admits that it is a “dream” for him to be playing alongside Danny Welbeck at Arsenal after he inspired the Gunners to a 2-0 win at Everton on Saturday.

Welbeck gave Arsenal the lead in the first half at Goodison Park, before Iwobi kept his cool and slotted home on the stroke of half-time to wrap up the points for Arsene Wenger’s men on Merseyside.

Iwobi has been in impressive form for Arsenal in recent games and has shown promising signs of striking up a partnership with Welbeck for north London side.

And the 19-year-old admits that he is thrilled to be linking up for the Gunners alongside the former Manchester United man.

Speaking to BT Sport after Saturday’s win at Everton, Iwobi said: “It is a dream playing with him. He gives me confidence, he is helping me out and gives me advice.”

He continued: “I’m enjoying the moment. I’m just happy to help my team and that is a positive so we will take that into the next game.”
