Anthony Martial: Why I love this Man Utd star so much

Anthony Martial is a big fan of Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney

Anthony Martial has heaped praise on Wayne Rooney and says that he “loves” the Manchester United captain.

Martial has been one of United’s standout performers since his arrival at the club from Monaco last summer in a big money deal.

The 20-year-old has earned plenty of praise for his performances this season and has scored seven goals and made three assists in the Premier League for Louis van Gaal’s men so far this season.

Martial has been lining up alongside Manchester United and England captain Rooney during his first campaign at Old Trafford.

And the France international has revealed just why he is such a keen admirer of the former Everton star.

Speaking in an interview with RTL, Martial said: “He [Rooney] is truly a good guy.

“He’s a great player, he is not at all arrogant, he laughs with everybody. I love him.”

Martial will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when Van Gaal’s men return to Premier League action with a home clash against Everton on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford.
