Arsene Wenger has admitted that he was left surprised and impressed by Marcus Rashford’s performance during Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.

The teenager scored twice in the first half on his Premier League debut at Old Trafford as the Red Devils dealt a significant blow to Arsenal’s title hopes on Sunday.

Rashford has earned plenty of new admirers for his fearless style of play after he announced himself to the Old Trafford faithful with a brace against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League last week.

And Arsenal boss Wenger has conceded that he was left impressed by the youngster’s display against his team.

Wenger is quoted as saying by Metro: “The player who was surprising for me was Rashford.

“The timing of his movement, [and] the intelligence of his movement was excellent.”

Arsenal now turn their attentions towards their Premier League clash with Swansea City at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
