Bastian Schweinsteiger has taken to social media to thank Manchester United’s fans for their support after he helped the Red Devils earn a 1-1 draw against West Ham in the FA Cup at Old Trafford.

The midfielder has recently been sidelined with a knee injury but made his first appearance at Old Trafford since January on Sunday as United came from a goal down to force a quarter-final replay.

Schweinsteiger, 31, played 14 minutes of the quarter-final clash as Anthony Martial netted a late equaliser for Louis van Gaal’s men.

And the German World Cup winner was thrilled to be involved against the Hammers at Old Trafford.

Schweinsteiger posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account on Monday and wrote: “We wanted the win yesterday, it’s up to us in the replay. Thanks for the warm welcome, being back at Old Trafford felt great! #mufc”
