The forward has been in fine form for Tottenham Hotspur once again this season to help Mauricio Pochettino’s men launch a Premier League title challenge.
Kane has scored 21 goals and made one assist in 31 Premier League games for the Lilywhites this season to help them up to second place in the table and just five points behind leaders Leicester.
The 22-year-old forward has earned plenty of new admirers for his sparkling form this season after he was voted the PFA young player of the year last season.
And former Liverpool midfielder Murphy feels that Kane has the potential to become one of England’s top strikers in the years to come.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Murphy said: “Harry Kane is potentially one of the best English strikers we have ever seen.
“At such a young age, he shows great maturity in his performances, continues to work tremendously hard and his finishing seems natural on both feet.
“He seems to always have time in the box, which is a great trait, but he also takes things early. He also has the ability to link play.”
Kane helped Tottenham beat Bournemouth 3-0 on Sunday to keep pace with leaders Leicester at the top of the table.
