The Croatia international has finally started to replicate his Southampton form after a difficult initial 18 months at Anfield following his £20m move to Liverpool from St Mary’s in 2014.
Lovren was named man-of-the-match for an excellent performance alongside Mamadou Sakho at the heart of Jurgen Klopp’s side on Sunday afternoon as Liverpool were 2-1 winners against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Christian Benteke came off the bench to win a late penalty before the Belgium striker coolly slotted his spot-kick past Palace goalkeeper Alex McCarthy to seal three points for the visitors.
The 25-year-old has struggled to impress Jurgen Klopp and some Liverpool supporters in recent months following his £32.5m switch from Aston Villa last summer.
However, Lovren, in a show of class from the Croatian defender, dedicated a heartfelt Twitter message to the towering striker following his winner on Sunday.

Benteke has scored seven goals and has made two assists in 24 Premier League appearances so far this season.
The towering Belgian striker has only started 12 top-flight games under Rodgers and Klopp.
