Brad Friedel believes that Tottenham are among the favourites to win the Premier League title this season as they prepare for a crunch week of top-flight games.

Spurs underlined their status as genuine contenders for the title as they came from a goal down to beat Swansea City at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.

That result lifted Mauricio Pochettino’s men three points clear of third-placed Arsenal in the table and left them two points behind leaders Leicester heading into the final 11 games of the season.

Spurs travel to West Ham United in their next Premier League game on Wednesday night, before hosting Arsenal in Saturday’s crunch north London derby at White Hart Lane.

And Friedel admits that he feels Tottenham are one of the strongest contenders for the Premier League title this season.

Speaking to talkSPORT on Monday, Friedel said: “Who would have thought that it would be Leicester and Tottenham at the top with this many games to go?

“And I would hate to jinx it, but Tottenham look really strong for it [the Premier League title] at the moment.

“They look strong every time they play. If they go a goal a goal down they have no problem in their confidence of coming back.

“Those West Ham and Arsenal games are going to be enormous, and don’t think Manchester City will go away either, but I’m pulling for Tottenham in this one.”
