Garth Crooks was impressed with Aaron Ramsey’s performance in Saturday’s north London derby as Arsenal played out a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Wales international shrugged off recent criticism of his performances with an impressive opener at White Hart Lane in the first half of the derby.

Ramsey’s goal didn’t prove enough to secure three points as Toby Alderweireld and Harry Kane scored for the hosts following Francis Coquelin’s sending off.

Alexis Sanchez’s equaliser rescued a point for the Gunners, and the Chilean, Mesut Ozil and Ramsey all caught Crooks’s eye in Saturday’s derby.

“There is no doubt about it: Arsenal do have the talent in their team to win the league,” Crooks told BBC Sport.

“The form of Aaron Ramsey, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil has been spasmodic this season, but any one of them can come to Arsenal’s rescue when required.”

Arsenal are in third place and eight points behind Premier League leaders Leicester City.

The Gunners are only three points adrift of second-placed Tottenham following their 2-2 stalemate.
