Gary Lineker underlined the importance of Dele Alli and Harry Kane to England and Tottenham Hotspur after Sunday’s 2-0 win at Villa Park.

The England duo combined for both of Tottenham’s goals against the Premier League’s basement club to help Mauricio Pochettino’s side make a return to winning ways.

The north London side moved to within two points of Premier League leaders Leicester City, who face Newcastle United at King Power Stadium on Monday night.

Former England and Tottenham striker Lineker was full of praise for Alli and Kane after Spurs secured a vital win in the Premier League title race.

Tottenham suffered a resounding 3-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 clash in Germany last week.
