Ian Wright says Arsenal need to sell three players to freshen up their Gunners squad in the summer transfer window.

The north London side ended a three-game winless run in the Premier League at Goodison Park in Saturday’s early kick-off just days after their Champions League exit.

Former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck broke the deadlock in the seventh minute before Alex Iwobi doubled the away side’s lead before half-time.

Arsenal temporarily moved to within eight points of leaders Leicester City but the Foxes and Tottenham Hotspur were both winner in their subsequent Premier League games.

Asked what players Arsene Wenger should sell in the summer transfer window, the Arsenal legend refused to call out any players by name but suggested their could be up to three Arsenal stars leaving at the end of the season.

“It would be unfair to start naming players at this current time when they’re going through a spell where they need to step up and kick on,” Wright told BBC Radio Five Live.

“They don’t want to hear me name and shame them.

“There are a few players that need to go – it needs to be freshened up. There are a few players where it might be good for them and it definitely would be good for the club. The club needs a different mentality in there. They need a different kind of player.”
