Jamie Carragher has taken to social media to praise Liverpool for their performance after the Reds thrashed Manchester City 3-0 at Anfield in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

Jurgen Klopp watched his side gain some revenge over the Citizens after their League Cup final defeat at Wembley on Sunday as the Reds ran riot on Merseyside.

The result lifted Liverpool up to eighth place in the Premier League table and left them six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City heading into the final 10 games of the season.

And former Liverpool defender Carragher was thrilled by the manner of the win – as well as Jon Flanagan’s robust early challenge on Raheem Sterling.

Carragher tweeted on Wednesday night:

Liverpool now turn their attentions towards their Premier League trip to Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.
