The 19-year-old continued his recent impressive performances by scoring the Gunners’ second goal in the 2-0 win at Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.
Iwobi coolly slotted home on the stroke of half-time at Goodison Park to add to Danny Welbeck’s opener on Merseyside.
The teenager has earned plenty of new admirers for his performances in recent weeks.
And Redknapp has revealed that Henry has spoken of his admiration for the youngster following his impressive displays.
Writing in his column for the Daily Mail, Redknapp said: “I was doing Saturday Night Football with Thierry Henry when the discussion came round to Arsenal’s new star, Alex Iwobi.
“Thierry, who has worked with the 19-year-old, said the most impressive thing about this young man is his attitude. That’s what sets him apart.
“Iwobi plays with a smile on his face, he’s never late for training and he is a conscientious young man. You might expect that to be a given for any young footballer but sadly that’s not the case in the modern game.
“That’s why he deserves everything he’s got this past week. And what a week it’s been – a start against Barcelona at the Nou Camp and a goal in his first Premier League start at Everton. It doesn’t get much better than that for any youngster.
“He’s got pace, he’s athletic and he looks a real prospect. You’d also have to say his performances have pushed him to the front of the queue ahead of a few more established stars.”
Iwobi will be hoping to once again feature for Arsenal when the Gunners return to Premier League action after the international break with a home clash against Watford at Emirates Stadium on Saturday 2 April.
The north London side are currently 11 points behind leaders Leicester, who have played one game more.
