The French midfielder was brought off midway through Arsenal’s Champions League defeat at Barcelona on Wednesday night and will definitely miss the trip to Goodison Park this weekend.
The Arsenal manager also confirmed that the Gunners had suffered no fresh injury concerns ahead of their Premier League trip to Merseyside.
He also provided the latest Arsenal injury updates on long-term absentees Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference on Friday morning, Wenger said: “Flamini picked up a hamstring injury against Barcelona.
“Everybody else should be available. We have a definite check-up this morning but all the other signs look quite positive.”
He continued: “I think Cazorla is a bit slow. Wilshere is showing good signs now of recovery. The players who will definitely back from injury [after the international break] could be Aaron Ramsey, Petr Cech, and maybe Flamini becuase it’s not very bad.
“But I don’t think that straight after the international break Wilshere or Cazorla will be back.
“Cazorla has an Achilles problem. His knee is perfect but he has a little Achilles problem that has slowed him down. Had he not had that problem, he would be available already now, because his knee is perfect.”
Arsenal head into Saturday’s game having only won one of their last eight games in all competitions.
The Gunners, who have not won the Premier League title since their unbeaten triumph in 2004, are currently third in the table and 11 points behind leaders Leicester heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures.
