The Red Devils manager, who has seen his side win their last four games in all competitions, should have the trio all available for selection for Sunday – but hinted that he would not throw them straight back into the side for clash with the Baggies.
Speaking to MUTV on Friday afternoon, Van Gaal said: “Fellaini, Valencia and Jones are coming back. But, if I don’t have to take a risk, then I won’t.
“We have to let the players who are coming back play in the second team.”
The Manchester United boss also confirmed that Ashley Young is on course to make his return to action from injury later this month, while also revealing that striker Will Keane has undergone a successful operation in the US to correct a groin problem.
He continued: “He [Keane] had a fantastic operation, like Ashley Young, it was more or less the same operation. He is coming back [to England] on Tuesday, and I’m hoping he comes back [to play] as quickly as Ashley Young.”
United head into Sunday’s trip to West Brom in fifth place in the table and level on points with fourth-placed Manchester City.
