There has been plenty of speculation surrounding Louis van Gaal’s future at Old Trafford following his side’s stuttering form this season.
Mourinho has been hotly tipped to be a possible replacement for Van Gaal following his sacking by Chelsea back in December.
United are yet to offer an official comment on whether Van Gaal could stay at the club beyond the summer.
However, Mourinho has been installed as the hot favourite to take over at the club at the end of the season.
Now, Di Marzio has confirmed that, according to his sources, Mourinho has an agreement in place to become United’s next manager, and all that is missing is the official announcement from the Premier League club.
Di Marzio confirmed the news in a Twitter Q&A session (above) on Monday night.
The reports come after Manchester United battled to a 1-0 win against derby rivals Manchester City at Etihad Stadium on Sunday thanks to Marcus Rashford’s first-half goal.
