John Barnes is tipping Liverpool to make it through to the quarter-finals of the Europa League by holding Manchester United to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

The Merseyside outfit head into the game looking to build on their impressive 2-0 win over the Red Devils at Anfield last week, as Jurgen Klopp’s men thoroughly outplayed United in front of their home fans.

Liverpool know that scoring a goal at Old Trafford would all but secure their progress to the last eight, because it would mean that United would need to net four times to win the tie.

And former Liverpool star Barnes is expecting to see Klopp’s side progress through to the quarter-finals on Thursday night.

Writing in his column for Titanbet, Barnes said: “It’ll be a tight game and Liverpool will be happy to just keep their advantage from the first leg.

“I think the away side will have too much against a Man United team that won’t be overly high on confidence. Goalscorers – Anthony Martial and Philippe Coutinho.”
