Michael Owen has tweeted his verdict on Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with West Ham United in Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils appeared to be heading out of the competition after France international Dimitri Payet netted a brilliant free-kick in the 68th minute at Theatre of Dreams.

Louis van Gaal’s side suffered a chastening 2-0 loss to bitter rivals Liverpool at Anfield in the first leg of their Europa League tie on Thursday night.

However, the Red Devils avoided a third successive defeat after Anthony Martial’s equaliser set up a FA Cup quarter-final replay at Upton Park in what will be the last cup game at West Ham’s stadium.

Former Liverpool and United striker Owen felt Slaven Bilic’s side were good value for their draw.

Owen wrote: “Great game at Old Trafford. Probably a fair result too. More and more impressed by West Ham every time I see them.”

West Ham are in fifth place and two points ahead of United in the Premier League table.
