The Lilywhites squandered a 2-1 lead as they were pegged back by 10-man Arsenal and held to a 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane in Saturday’s north London derby clash.
Spurs are currently second in the Premier League table and five points behind Leicester heading into the final nine games of the season.
Leicester pulled eight points clear of third-placed Arsenal with victory at Watford on Saturday evening.
However, former Arsenal defender Winterburn feels that the Foxes are unlikely to win the title at a canter this season and says Spurs should be confident that they can catch Claudio Ranieri’s men.
Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Tuesday morning, Winterburn said: “Being 1-0 up against Arsenal, I think they thought they’d won the game. They switched off and Arsenal showed great spirit to come back at them.
“They’re in there [the title race]. I just don’t believe that Leicester are just going to walk away with this title. They’ve got that little gap, if they lose a game they know they stay top.
“But you just feel that with the squads that Arsenal, Tottenham and Man City have got… at least one of those team has got to be able to put a strong run through until the end of the season to put some pressure on Leicester.”
Tottenham travel to struggling Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday, before a home clash against Bournemouth in the top flight.
