Rose has been a regular fixture in the Tottenham first team this season to help Mauricio Pochettino’s men launch a Premier League title challenge.
The 25-year-old has scored one goal and made two assists in 18 Premier League games for the Lilywhites to help Spurs move up to second place in the table and five points behind leaders Leicester City.
Rose featured for England during their 3-2 friendly win over Germany in Berlin on Saturday night.
And former Arsenal man Merson feels that Rose must be included in Roy Hodgson’s starting line-up for their Euro 2016 clashes this summer.
Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ, Merson said: “Danny Rose is one of the most improved players this season and is quick, like Clyne.
“He has been very good for Tottenham this year and has defended very well and got forward well. For me, he has to play [at Euro 2016].”
Rose will be hoping to feature when Tottenham return to Premier League action after the international break with a tricky trip to Liverpool next weekend.
