The Gunners suffered yet another blow to their Premier League title hopes on Wednesday night as they were pegged back and beaten 2-1 by Swansea City at Emirates Stadium.
That defeat followed the disappointment of their 3-2 loss at the hands of Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend.
Arsenal’s title hopes now appear to be hanging by a thread as they prepare for their crunch north London derby clash with Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Saturday lunchtime.
And Manchester United legend Scholes was less than impressed by Arsenal’s recent displays.
Speaking to BT Sport, Scholes said: “This season, I think I was a little bit conned by Arsenal.
“I thought this year they added a little bit of steel with Petr Cech and Mesut Ozil was really coming into his own.
“I had a slight feeling that they might go on to win it, but once again they have disappointed.”
Arsenal head into Saturday’s clash with Tottenham in third place in the Premier League table and three points behind their bitter local rivals.
Tottenham lost 1-0 to West Ham on Wednesday to leave them three points adrift of leaders Leicester City.
