Paul Scholes has claimed that Liverpool could finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.

The Reds are currently seventh in the top flight and six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City heading into the final 10 games of the campaign.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have been in improved form in recent weeks and outclassed Manchester United as they sealed a 2-0 win in the first leg of their Europa League last 16 clash at Anfield on Thursday night.

Liverpool now have a free weekend to prepare for the return leg of their European tie at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

Former Manchester United midfielder Scholes admits that he has been impressed by what he’s seen from the Reds in recent weeks and says that the Merseyside outfit could yet finish in the top four this term.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Scholes said: “Before the Liverpool versus Manchester City game, which I worked at, I was thinking, ‘Klopp might only keep two or three of these’.

“But what is he building now? They need to go on from here. They can go on from here. They could even finish in the top four in the Premier League this year if it carries on.”
