Didier Drogba has taken to social media to wish Chelsea a happy 111th birthday just hours after their Champions League exit at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.

The Blues were dumped out of Europe’s elite club competition after they lost 2-1 at Stamford Bridge to the Ligue 1 side to leave the FA Cup as their only remaining hope of winning a trophy this season.

Chelsea must now dust themselves down as they prepare for their FA Cup quarter-final clash at Everton on Saturday afternoon.

However, Drogba was quick to pay tribute to his former employers with a social media post on Thursday morning.

Drogba shared the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Happy birthday @chelseafc and all the Chelsea fans around the world!!!! #ktbffh #bluesoldier #cfcfamily #londonpride”

Forward Drogba helped Chelsea win the Premier League under Jose Mourinho last season.
