John Terry’s chance of finishing his Chelsea career with some silverware may have gone, but the Blues skipper could take some solace from his latest milestone.

The England international was a second-half substitute at Goodison Park as former Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku scored twice in the final 12 minutes to secure a 2-0 victory for Everton in the FA Cup quarter-final.

Terry pulled on the captain’s armband for the 700th time in his Chelsea career against the Toffees ahead of his anticipated move away from the west London side at the end of the season.

And the 34-year-old posted a photo of his skipper’s armband on his Instagram page on Monday morning as he reflected on his latest Chelsea feat.

Terry wrote on his Instagram page: “700th Game Captain’s armband @chelseafc”
