Dejan Lovren jetted off to warmer climes after helping Liverpool take a big step towards the Europa League quarter-finals by beating Manchester United 2-0 at Anfield on Thursday night.

Jurgen Klopp’s men secured a convincing victory over their bitter local rivals on Merseyside thanks to goals from Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino.

With the Reds out of the FA Cup, Liverpool can enjoy a rare weekend off ahead of their Europa League return leg against United at Old Trafford next Thursday night.

And defender Lovren did not miss the opportunity to get some winter sunshine as he took a private jet out of the country.

Lovren shared the picture above on Instagram on Friday afternoon and wrote: “Off to…”

Liverpool are currently seventh in the Premier League table and six points adrift of the top four heading into the final 10 games of the campaign.
