Luke Shaw managed to snap a selfie with the World Cup on Saturday, although it was one of horse racing’s most-lucrative prizes as opposed to the Fifa trophy.

The Manchester United defender is still recovering from a broken leg which the 20-year-old defender sustained during the Red Devils’s 2-1 defeat by PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League in September.

Roy Hodgson’s side came from 2-0 down to beat World Cup holders Germany 3-2 in Berlin on Saturday evening thanks to goals from Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy and Eric Dier in the German capital.

However, Shaw wasn’t watching his Three Lions team-mates secure an important win ahead of Euro 2016 as the United full-back watched California Chrome land the world’s richest horse race.

The England defender posted the above photo and wrote on his Instagram page: “Good day at the meydan World Cup ✌🏽️”
