The Brazil international suffered a hamstring injury following Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United in the second leg of their Europa League last-16 clash at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
The 24-year-old midfielder was forced to sit out Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat by Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon as Jurgen Klopp’s side squandered a 2-0 lead at St Mary’s.
Firmino kept Liverpool supporters updated with his weekend as the Brazilian put his feet up to watch the Reds allow a commanding position to slip in his absence.
However, the South American is working hard on his rehabiliation from the hamstring problem with his physiotherapist ahead of Liverpool’s next game after the international break.
Firmino wrote on his Snapchat story: “Treatment intensive 100”
The former Hoffenheim midfielder was forced to withdraw from Dunga’s Brazil squad due to the hamstring injury.
Liverpool will host Tottenham Hotspur in their next Premier League game on Saturday 2 April.
