Piers Morgan has taken to social media to claim that Pep Guardiola was ready to take over at Arsenal with Thierry Henry as his assistant.

Guardiola is set to take charge at Manchester City in the summer after he announced that he would be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

The Spaniard was touted as a potential replacement for Arsene Wenger at Arsenal when the Frenchman leaves Emirates Stadium.

Wenger has found himself under fresh pressure in recent days after watching his side slump to back to back Premier League defeats at the hands of Manchester United and Swansea City.

And celebrity Arsenal fan Morgan has claimed that he was told that Guardiola was ready to take over at Emirates Stadium.
