The 48-year-old head coach is facing his biggest game as Liverpool manager so far on Thursday night when the Reds host Manchester United in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 clash.
We can judge him properly from the start of next season
The Reds have racked up three successive wins for the first time since Klopp was announced as Rodgers’s successor in October thanks to victories over Aston Villa, Manchester City and Crystal Palace.
While Jones believes Klopp shouldn’t be judged until after the summer transfer window, the former Liverpool defender praised the German’s initial impact at Anfield.
“Jurgen has brought something to club, like unifying it,” Jones told The Sport Review.
“He is getting the lads playing his way, and it starting to show now. He is tactically good but he has got the team together. He is a good overall manager.
“He isn’t managing just the players, but everyone around Melwood. We can judge him properly from the start of next season.”
Klopp missed out on his first piece of silverware as Liverpool manager last month after the Reds lost to City on penalties in the League Cup final at Wembley.
Liverpool have lost their last four games against United ahead of Thursday night’s clash between the bitter Premier League rivals in Europe.
