The Belgium international endured a forgettable 2015/16 season for the dethroned Premier League champions despite winning the PFA player of the year award for an outstanding 2014/15 campaign.
Hazard endured an 11-month goal drought before the former Lille winger scored a brace in Chelsea’s 4-1 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium at the end of April.
The 25-year-old went on to score against Chelsea’s bitter rivals Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in their final games of the season.
The Chelsea man has been regularly linked with a move to Champions League finalists Madrid and Ligue 1 holders Paris Saint-Germain over the course of the season.
Former Madrid midfielder Campo believes Hazard has the necessary quality to succeed at The Bernabeu.
“Hazard is one of the best players in the world. Last season he was easily the best player in the Premier League but this year he hasn’t had much luck. However, he has so much quality, so why wouldn’t he sign for Madrid,” Campo said, speaking exclusively to 888sport.
Chelsea are set to hand over the reins to Antonio Conte this summer after Italy’s Euro 2016 campaign.
