John Hartson believes Arsenal could spend up to £150m on new players in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners have already completed their first signing of the summer after Granit Xhaka was unveiled as an Arsenal player on Wednesday morning following his £33m switch to The Emirates.

Arsene Wenger has been linked with a move for Juventus striker Alvaro Morata and Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante in recent weeks as the Arsenal manager looks to improve his squad.

Former Gunners striker Hartson reckons Wenger could spend as much as £150m on new players as the Frenchman enters the final year of his Arsenal contract.

“I do think Arsene Wenger will spend an awful lot of money this summer,” Hartson told Daily Star.

“He’ll spend big and with him having probably just another year there, he’ll think ‘right, I’m going to go out with a big bang’.

“I reckon he’ll think ‘I’m going to spend all this money that’s been given to me’.

“I think he’ll actually spend up to £150m this summer, I really, really do.”

Arsenal finished in second place in the Premier League table after a 4-0 victory over Aston Villa on the final day of the Premier League season.
