Kurt Zouma has handed Chelsea a big boost ahead of the arrival of Antonio Conte at the west London club – after he stepped up his recovery from a serious knee injury.

Zouma has been out of action since earlier in the season after he suffered a serious knee injury and required surgery to correct the problem.

The France international went under the knife in Spain to correct the issue and has since been working on his rehabilitation at Chelsea’s Cobham training base.

The injury has ruled the defender out of Euro 2016, but he will be hoping to make sure that he is fully fit at the start of next season.

Now, the defender has taken to social media to reveal that he is running outside for the first time since the setback.

Zouma shared the video of himself running above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Step by step… #happy #running #1sttime #rosarosa @gradurofficiel243”
