The Gunners made a disappointing start to the new Premier League campaign after Sunday’s 4-3 defeat by top-four rivals Liverpool.
I would certainly advocate Wenger staying on
The north London side have failed to win six of their last seven opening Premier League games as pressure mounts on manager Wenger.
The Arsenal manager has signed three players in the summer transfer window, including Switzerland international Granit Xhaka in a £33m deal from Borussia Monchengladbach.
Wenger hasn’t led Arsenal to the Premier League title since 2004 and the Gunners have only won two FA Cups during that 12-year spell.
Former Manchester United defender Neville believes Arsenal should maintain stability and keep Wenger despite dissent from some Gunners supporters.
“They’re lacking inspiration. When you sign five or six players and sack your manager, it’s like fans are invigorated again,” Neville told his Sky Sports podcast.
“I would certainly advocate Wenger staying on. He is a stalwart at Arsenal what he has achieved for this club. He has played a big part in the delivery of the stadium.”
Arsenal finished in second place in the Premier League table last season as the Gunners ended the season without any silverware for the first time in three campaigns.
Wenger’s side will make the trip to Premier League champions Leicester City at King Power Stadium next Saturday.
