Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has signed two players in the summer transfer window after bringing in Victor Wanyama from Southampton and Vincent Janssen from AZ Alkmaar.
Asked if Tottenham are still struggling to come to terms with their disapppointment from last season, Wright told The Sun Goals podcast:
“I don’t think so.”
Wright added: “They started the game slowly. All of them. You can’t expect Tottenham to just come in and really be blasting into it.”
Tottenham finished in third place in the Premier League table last term after a 5-1 defeat by relegated Newcastle United on the final day of the 2016/17 campaign.
The north London side will host derby rivals Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane in their next Premier League game on Saturday afternoon.
Pochettino’s side drew 1-1 with Everton after Erik Lamela cancelled out Ross Barkley’s opener at Goodison Park.
